Introduction
This unit explores the nature and practice of change in the rapidly changing and increasingly complex health and human service environment. You are encouraged to extend your change leadership acumen through the exploration and critical analysis of change leadership frameworks, drivers for change, consequences of change, resistance to change, change readiness, and leading organizations through change.
You will develop practical capabilities in planning, implementing and evaluating change initiatives in the health and human service sector.

- Evaluate personal and broader societal factors that impact on the success of change initiatives within health and human service settings including culture, community attitudes, evidence-based practice, quality and safety systems and governance.
- Critically analyse change management and change leadership approaches including impacts on system change, uptake of evidence-based practice, and service innovation in health and human services.
- Apply appropriate change tools and techniques to plan, implement and evaluate a change initiative in the health and human service sector.
- Critically evaluate the leadership implications of change initiatives in health and human services and communicate this effectively in a specific context.
