Dissertation Part 3 unit (CNA474)

Introduction

This is the third of three linked dissertation units. Students conduct research into a field of nursing practice which is informed and supported by a series of collaborative seminars and workshops that provide the student with a forum in which to critique and develop their own research and that of others. The seminars focus on the application of research knowledge and skills to the research being conducted. During this unit students will complete their research project and their dissertation will be submitted for examination.

• Synthesise and articulate the significance of the final research question(s) and answers in light of findings, theory, and the broader literature.
• Evaluate and defend methodological and analytical choices, including limitations and trustworthiness/validity, in the context of the completed study.
• Complete analysis and integrate interpretations with theoretical and empirical literature to generate credible, practice-relevant insights.
• Finalise and submit a cohesive dissertation that communicates the study’s process, findings, limitations, and implications for nursing practice and future research.

Teaching Pattern	Individual Study – This unit is offered fully online via MyLO (My Learning Online). You are expected to devote around 10 hours per week to the study materials, assessment tasks and self-directed learning.
