Introduction

This unit addresses principles of early human development, focusing on the stages from conception to early adulthood. It examines genetic, environmental, and physiological (bioecological) factors influencing growth and development. Emphasis is also placed on understanding developmental milestones and their implications for nursing practice, promoting optimal health outcomes that incorporate ethically and culturally appropriate care for neonates, infants, children, and young people.
