Introduction

In this unit, you will be introduced to psychological therapies used in the management of mental health problems and treatment of addiction, either as stand-alone interventions or in combination with pharmacological interventions. You will have the opportunity to explore factors relevant to the experience of mental health, as well as a range of psychological interventions that can be implemented in therapeutic engagement with individuals in clinical and professional settings. Through this unit, you will explore the core principles and skills of therapeutic modalities relevant to mental health care and the treatment of addiction.
