Introduction
In this unit you will explore key concepts, issues and practices across the field of public safety from an ethical, integrity, and governance perspective.
You will consider how public safety is understood, governed and implemented across different contexts. You will examine how integrity, governance structures, accountability frameworks, and organisational cultures shape public safety practice. You will also explore the challenges, tensions and unintended consequences that can arise when public safety systems are applied in real-world settings.
Through case studies and contemporary examples, you will critically examine public safety issues holistically, moving beyond a frontline focus to consider the wider network of agencies, communities, policies and social factors that contribute to public health, wellbeing and safety.
