Introduction

In this capstone unit, you will bring together all of your previously learnt knowledge and skills and apply them during your extended practice placement. You will undertake 80 hours of community pharmacy placement, 80 hours of hospital pharmacy placement, and at least 40 hours of extended or specialised pharmacy practice placements. In addition, you will participate in an on-campus teaching block that includes multidisciplinary sessions and training in conducting medication reviews in aged care facilities. Drawing on your research and professional writing skills, you will work in teams to produce a continuing professional development (CPD) article and an accompanying patient information resource on a contemporary topic in pharmacy practice.
