Introduction

The unit will provide you with advanced knowledge of the pharmacological management of diseases and clinical toxicology principles within the context of advanced practice. It will also include the areas of pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics, toxicodynamics and pharmacodynamics, as they apply to the therapeutic management of conditions and clinical toxicology, relevant to advanced practice. You will develop a sound understanding of the quality use of medicines, and some familiarity with Poisons and Therapeutics Goods Act and Regulations, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and medication management for advanced practitioners.
