Foundations of Exercise and Sport Science unit (CXA178)

Location: Launceston

Introduction

This unit develops a foundational understanding of Exercise and Sport Science practice in Australia. You will build role clarity by recognising the scope-of-practice boundaries, professional responsibilities and ethical expectations that shape the practice of Accredited Exercise Scientists within the allied health system.

The unit supports the development of foundational professional communication by organising and presenting Exercise and Sport Science roles, expectations and learning pathways in academic and emerging professional contexts. Through structured reflection, you will examine how your understanding of professional scope and roles evolves in response to learning in the unit.

The unit also supports preparation for professional experience by introducing compliance requirements required for participation in work-integrated learning and professional experience placements. Early engagement with reflective learning records and exploration of learning pathways supports awareness of future learning and professional directions.
