Introduction
This unit extends knowledge related to musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology, and neuroscience. You will apply bioscientific understandings, neuroanatomy and motor development to pathological and clinical conditions to examine the use of pain science and movement analysis in exercise science. You will situate bioscientific learnings with the broader concern for promoting health, preventing injury and improving people’s quality of life.

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the relationship between musculoskeletal structure, neurological system structures and functional movement under normal and pathological conditions.
- Apply knowledge of the integration between the musculoskeletal and neurological systems and how this influences movement and function.
- Describe the effect of pathological neurological conditions on quality of movement and functional ability.
- Demonstrate highly developed verbal and written communication skills through participation in tutorial workshops and submission of written assignments.
