Introduction

This unit will extend your knowledge and application of theoretical models and practice frameworks to understand, identify and respond to language and literacy needs of individuals and/or communities. The unit adopts a case-based and lifespan focus and you will develop skills related to the description, analysis and interpretation, evidence-based assessment, differential diagnosis, and application of intervention principles to optimise language and literacy. There is a focus on the importance of cultural factors within the context of intervention and working in partnership with others to set goals and measure outcomes of intervention or service response plans.

• Search for, appraise, and synthesise evidence to support intervention or service response planning.
