Introduction
This is the second 5-week component of a 10-week General English level at an Elementary level which aims to build students English language level. This course develops listening, reading, writing and speaking skills as well as grammar and vocabulary on topics that are familiar and routine. Within a communicative and interactive classroom environment, the unit focuses on language competencies in - functional language for spoken interactions to make arrangements, request and give information, give opinions, and give reasons; - comprehending short reading and listening texts on familiar and routine topics; - writing personal correspondence, descriptions and reviews, and; - using grammar and vocabulary accurately and appropriately. Student language acquisition is checked against the Common European Framework Reference for Language (A2) checklist of competencies.

Learning Outcomes
- Speak on topics that are familiar and routine using appropriate vocabulary and grammar accurately at a CEFR A2 level.
- Read and comprehend information in texts on topics that are familiar and routine at a CEFR A2 level.
- Listen to and comprehend information in clear standard speech on topics that are familiar and routine at a CEFR A2 level.
- Write messages and short texts of up to 100 words to communicate ideas on topics that are familiar and routine using appropriate vocabulary and grammar accurately at a CEFR A2 level.
