Forensic Practice unit (PEM201)

Introduction

This unit introduces the field of forensic practice, including crime scene investigation, forensic science, e-forensics, forensic interventions in social work, the sociology of forensic science, and related ethical considerations. The unit provides an overview of the history and development of forensic investigation techniques, as well as specific approaches and methods within the field, including the application of forensic science techniques in practice and participation in the forensic science process from beginning-to-end. Particular attention is given to the impact of forensic science in crime investigation, illicit substance policing, and the investigation of injuries, death, and fire.
