Advanced Research Skills in Psychology Practice 1 unit (PSY728)

Introduction

This unit involves developing and conducting a research project relevant to your area of practice endorsement. There are three major components to this unit. Under the guidance of your research supervisor you will review the relevant literature, develop a research question, design a study, and prepare a written research proposal. You will also present a version of your proposal in a seminar to relevant stakeholders. This process is the mechanism for gaining School approval for your project, and an important step in gaining ethical approval. Once you have ethical approval (if relevant), you will conduct a piece of research and collect the data for analysis. Analysis, interpretation and communication of this data is undertaken in Advanced Research Skills in Psychology Practice 2.
