Entry requirements
Admission to Graduate Certificate courses at the University of Tasmania normally requires the prior completion of an AQF7 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree. Specific requirements for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Economic Geology are as follows:
(i) a Bachelor of Science/Applied Science majoring in geoscience, or
(ii) a minimum of two years' employment as a geoscientist in the minerals industry or government.
To demonstrate eligibility for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Economic Geology, applicants must provide a copy of their undergraduate academic transcript/s. Where seeking entry partly or solely based on an applicant’s previous professional experience, a curriculum vitae and the names and contact details for two professional referees should be provided.

International applicants to the Graduate Certificate in Economic Geology (K5F) must meet the same entry requirements as Domestic students. Additionally, international applicants from non-English speaking countries must meet the following English language test requirements:

For students who do not meet the English Language Requirement through citizenship or prior studies in English in an approved country, evidence of an approved English language test completed within the last 2 years must be provided.

On completion of the GCertEconGeol. students can articulate into the Master of Economic Geology (S7W) with full credit (50-credit points).

Domestic students
Commonwealth supported places (CSP) are available for this course. For eligible domestic students, this means your fees will be subsidised by the Australian Government. You’ll only need to pay the student contribution amount for each unit you study within the course.

Tuition fee based on a rate of $44,450 AUD per standard, full-time year of study (100 credit points).
