Introduction
The units overlays a formal environmental engineering framework to environmental and sustainability topics and shows how the traditional design process can be extended to include these issues. The aim is for students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to identify potential environmental risks and opportunities associated with projects, undertake the basic design of environmental engineering solutions, and evaluate their effectiveness. This unit covers principal environmental engineering design areas, including air quality, geo-environmental, solid waste management, recycling, LCA and environmental risk assessment
