Introduction
This unit provides students with knowledge of the fundamental concepts of statical stability and trim of intact and damaged floating structures and the associated practical implications and applications within a regulated environment. This is a unit pivotal to an adequate knowledge within a maritime engineering degree. The unit enables determination of responses of any floating structure to changes in immersed geometry and weight distribution, hence forming one foundation for subsequent design and operations related units within the student's respective course.
