Applied Offshore Structural Engineering unit (JEE320)

Introduction

This unit is an intermediate-level unit that introduces the students to the industry standards, codes and analysis techniques used in the design of fixed steel, concrete, and subsea offshore structures. In addition, students are exposed to experimental and analytical geotechnical techniques used in the classification of soils and in the design and analysis of foundations.  The unit builds heavily on the knowledge gained in Mechanics of Solids and Engineering Materials and provides the foundations for design projects conducted in advanced units.
