Introduction
This unit covers the key elements and essential concepts of environmental forcings on offshore structures and vessels. Additionally, the unit helps students in developing and applying appropriate numerical and analysis methods relevant to engineering problems of structures at sea. The unit lays a foundation for the more detailed analysis of applied maritime hydrodynamics problems in areas such as propulsion, manoeuvring, resistance, seakeeping, floating offshore structures and coastal engineering.
