Introduction
This unit provides students with knowledge of the fundamental concepts of statical stability and trim of intact and damaged floating structures. It also covers the associated practical implications and applications within a regulated environment. This unit is pivotal to have an adequate knowledge within a maritime engineering degree. The unit enables determination of responses of any floating structure to changes in its immersed geometry and weight distribution, hence forming one foundation for subsequent design and operations-related units within the student's respective course.
