Introduction

International Transport Systems provides students with an understanding of international transport and the way it operates. The unit covers various topics such as transport modes (road, rail, air and water transport) and terminals, global transport system, intermodal transport, transport and logistics, the relationship between transport and economic development, social and environmental impacts of transport, and transport planning and policy. This unit lays the foundation for students to progress into the study of the Global Logistics and Maritime Management courses.

Teaching Pattern	On-Campus: Weekly 2-hour lectures and weekly a 1-hr tutorial. Attendance in tutorials is mandatory. Off-Campus: Weekly recorded lectures and a weekly 1-hr on-line tutorial with the on-campus cohort.
