Special Topics in Logistics and Maritime Management unit (JNB425)

Introduction

This unit provides an opportunity to investigate contemporary topics of interest in global logistics and maritime management. Students are required to undertake research and present findings on specific topics relevant to management in the maritime and logistics sector. This unit builds students’ skills of surveying literature and research communication. It firstly requires students to review and evaluate the literature in logistics and maritime management relevant to their research topic to understand what is already researched and to justify their research questions and methods. Secondly, students are required to expose to up to date research presentations by attending research seminars hosted by AMC and other faculties within the University. Seminars related to their discipline areas should be prioritised. Students are able to develop their research communication skills by engaging with and evaluating those research presentations that will help the presentation of research proposal for their dissertation project. This unit paves the way for students to work on Honours dissertation units (JNB418, JNB419, JNB420 and JNB421) of Bachelor of Global Logistics and Maritime Management with Honours

Teaching

Teaching Pattern	No formal lecture, self research. Students need to attend at least three research seminars hosted by AMC or other faculties across the University. A presentation of Honours research project proposal is required in class or online, depending on students' study mode.
