Introduction

This unit provides the students with the knowledge and skills to plan and carry out marine ¿engineering related maintenance and fabrication on-board ships. They are provided with the ¿knowledge and skills to plan, manage and use fabrication machinery and tools, including ¿manual metal arc welding techniques, heat treatment, cast iron welding and metal cutting ¿operations. Further, they perform brazing and silver soldering on soft joints.¿ This unit meet the requirements for knowledge, understanding and proficiency set out by ¿the current Maritime Training Package, the STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments),Table A-¿III/1 of the STCW Code and relevant AMSA Marine orders.¿
