ICT Research Dissertation A unit (KIT702)

Introduction

This unit is the first of two research project units. Students undertake research work under the supervision of a member of academic staff on a topic approved by the School, and produce a thesis document that reports and discusses the findings from this research and also give a formal presentation of their work. This unit has a hurdle clearing which one is allowed to do other part of the research. The student is evaluated based on clearly defined research proposal which constitutes a clearly defined research question, a critical review of literature to defend the need of answering the question and preliminary methodology.

Prerequisites

HD in KIT714 and DN (or higher) in all other first-year units

Teaching

Teaching Pattern	Students will complete an independent, research focused project under the guidance of an academic staff member and deliver a thesis that demonstrates an ability to conduct scientific research in an area of ICT. One workshop in Week 1, a 30 minute meeting each fortnight with supervisor and 8-10 hours of  independent learning per week throughout the semester.
