Location: Melbourne Study Centre, Ultimo Study Centre, Hobart, Launceston

Introduction

This unit is designed to give students an appreciation of the significance of research in future ICT professional practice. This unit provides an introduction to both qualitative and quantitative approaches and will provide students with basic research skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to conduct their own research in an ethical and rigorous manner. In addition, students will also learn how to conduct a literature review and develop critical thinking skills in the process.

Teaching

Teaching Pattern

On-Campus Melbourne and Sydney teaching arrangements may differ and will be advised by your teaching team. 

On-Campus enrolments in Hobart: 

  • Lecture/Seminar: 1xhr weekly
  • Independent Learning: 1xhr weekly 
  • Lab Classes ("Tutorials"): 2xhrs weekly commencing in week 1

For this unit, students are expected to attend On-line Zoom lectures, On-campus Seminar and on-campus lab classes and are expected to remain up to date with content that is delivered asynchronously online.
