Introduction

Artificial intelligence and analytics are transforming how organisations make decisions, automate processes, engage with customers, and create business value. Business managers are increasingly investing in AI-enabled technologies and analytics tools with the expectation that they can improve efficiency, identify new opportunities and support competitive advantage. This unit demystifies artificial intelligence and analytics for business students and future managers. It examines key AI concepts, business applications, analytical maturity, implementation challenges, and the organisational conditions needed to realise value from these technologies. The unit also encourages critical reflection on the unintended consequences, ethical issues and governance challenges associated with the adoption of AI and analytics in business.

Teaching Pattern

Pre-recorded Blended Lecture (online), Up to 1.5 hours (3-5 short lectures of maximum 20 minutes each), weekly.

Blended Workshop (face to face and via zoom) for 180 minutes. 4 blocks of 3 hour workshops.
