Introduction
This unit explores the evolving landscape of modern people management in organisations. Developing an appreciation of global issues and the capacity to determine regional or local consequences for organisations is a strategic imperative for organisations. Managers and leaders must be cognisant of current and emerging issues that are or will impact the organisation and its people. Managers must make informed decisions as to the most appropriate response to mitigate risk, leverage opportunity and maintain relevance in a competitive global landscape.
This unit equips you with the knowledge to navigate the challenges and opportunities emerging from volatile and uncertain business contexts. As part of a suite of units examining the centrality of people and culture management, the premise of this unit is to generate academic curiosity about global issues and subsequent consequences for organisations and the people who are changed with responding to them.
The unit encourages you to think more expansively about challenges and opportunities associated with people management, particularly those of global scale.
