2027 Unit information is now available. View 2027 unit information

Introduction

This unit reflects people and culture challenges currently faced by organisations operating in a global context.  You will have the opportunity to examine theory and practices associated with the intricate and complex interaction between people management and the development of appropriate organisational culture. Exploring the impact and consequence of regional culture is also a key focus and challenges students to think more expansively about the relationship between people, culture and organisational effectiveness in context.

Utilising a blend of assessment tasks, students will have the opportunity to explore relevant peer reviewed literature, current affairs and other publicly available material to explore the complexities of developing positive workplace cultures and appropriate people management practices in alignment with relevant UN sustainable development goals.

This unit is designed to equip students with the ability to conduct a thoughtful analysis of organisational responses to culture and people management issues. It encourages the exploration of how existing perceptions of culture in relation to people management can be re-envisioned to address pressing global issues facing organisations today.
