Introduction

The primary objective of this unit is to cultivate a comprehensive grasp of various economic and ethical theories and their implications for managerial decision-making. While it will establish fundamental knowledge and an appreciation of neoclassical economics, the emphasis will not be on the mathematical application of these theories. Instead, the unit will explore economic frameworks that go beyond the confines of neo-classical perspectives, thereby enabling a more nuanced comprehension of issues that extend past profit and loss considerations. It will explore the imperative for managers to factor in ethical and sustainability-based criteria when making decisions, taking into account the organisation's corporate and social responsibility, social license to operate, and pursuit of sustainable development goals.

Teaching Pattern	Pre-recorded online lecture. Up to 1.5 hours, (3-5 short lectures of max. 20 minutes each) weekly. Online tutorial. 1 hour, fortnightly. Face to Face Workshop (Full time MBA). 3 hours, four times per semester. OR Intensive Block Delivery (Exec MBA). 7 hours, twice per semester.
