Introduction
In this unit you will explore how sustainability can be meaningfully integrated into teaching and learning programs across curriculum areas. Grounded in principles of reciprocity and interconnectedness, you will examine pedagogical approaches that foster deep engagement with sustainability and the role of education more broadly in shaping a sustainable future. Through an emphasis on reflective practice, planning, and assessment, the unit develops the skills you need to create transformative learning experiences that inspire young people to think critically and act responsibly. A central component of the unit is learning to facilitate change-oriented conversations that empower your students to contribute to sustainable and socially just communities. The unit emphasises the importance of fostering meaningful connections with people and places through education, and conscious and responsive approaches to teaching and learning.
