Fundamentals of Marine Component Fabrication unit (JVE147)

Introduction

This unit equips students with the essential knowledge and skills to plan, manage, and execute marine engineering-related fabrication, repair, and maintenance tasks on-board ships. Students will learn to effectively use and manage fabrication machinery and tools, including lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines, various hand and power tools, and measuring tools essential for precision in fabrication and repair work.  

This unit meets the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency standards set out by the current Maritime Training Package, the STCW 2010 (Manila Amendments), Table A-III/1 of the STCW Code, and AMSA Marine Order 72.
