Introduction
This introductory mathematics unit provides you with a foundational understanding of key algebraic and graphical concepts. You will learn to communicate mathematically using appropriate notation and language, enabling you to interpret linear and non-linear relationships presented in equations, tables, and graphs. You will also develop skills in solving various types of mathematical problems and applying algebraic techniques to model real-world scenarios. Topics explored in this unit include order of operations, fundamental algebra, linear/quadratic/exponential equations, graphical methods and modelling, introductory trigonometry and vectors, indices and logarithms. This unit can help you prepare for further study in business and science-related courses and is recommended for students who have not studied pre-tertiary mathematics in Years 11 & 12.
