Introduction
This unit will provide you with an understanding of how organisations manage the supply chain and logistics processes associated with manufactured and purchased goods, ensuring the successful flow of materials between organisations, external suppliers and customers. The logistics aspects and methodologies you will be exposed to include manufacturing demand planning, inventory and stock control, packaging, warehousing, distribution networks, transportation, value chains and managing supplier relationships. You will also consider how current and future use of technologies and automated processes in the logistics environment can be utilised to achieve logistics and supply chain improvements for the organisation.
