Introduction

Event management is a dynamic environment that encompasses a wide range of time sensitive duties and extensive planning to ensure that the event achieves its desired outcomes. Events require thorough planning that may incorporate concepts of innovative practice. In this unit you will develop key knowledge and skills needed to manage events. You will explore topics such as marketing, sponsorship, budgeting, resource management, and stakeholder engagement. You will experience managing events through case studies, industry engagement, and the creation of your own event management plan – based on an evidence-based approach. Through these learning activities and experiences, you will be able to identify the roles, skills, methods, and processes involved in managing an event.
