Introduction
This unit will provide you with the basic skills and concepts of Industry 4.0 technologies and their applications across any advanced manufacturing industry, from large-scale industrial operations, small businesses and the emerging sole traders in niche design industries. The unit focuses on practical applications, employing simulation tools to develop skills in electrical circuit analysis and digital control system design. You will explore the complexities of electrical circuits, covering fundamental concepts such as voltage, current, and impedance, and explore advanced topics like operational amplifiers, sensors, and actuators. The digital control systems component introduces the practical applications of digital control systems across industries, encompassing both hardware and software aspects. Through case studies and simulated real-world environments, you will gain insights into real-time measurement, open and closed-loop control, and contemporary technology.
