Waleed Ali is an Electrical Engineer currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tasmania, affiliated with the ARC Training Centre in Energy Technologies for Future Grids. His research focuses on leveraging Distributed Energy Resources (DER) to support Electric Vehicle (EV) charging.
He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan, where his research focused on hierarchical control of voltage and frequency for 100% inverter-based resources (IBR).
Waleed has professional experience in the R&D team at SkyElectric, where he conducted testing and debugging of new inverters under development in accordance with IEEE 1547, UL 1741, and JET standards. He also has experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the automotive industry, ensuring product reliability and process quality.
