The Dean of Medicine’s Merit Scholarship is offered by the College of Health and Medicine to encourage high performing international students from around the world to study medicine at the University of Tasmania in 2020.
Created in 1965, the School of Medicine has serviced the needs of the Tasmanian community for over 50 years. Today the School incorporates medicine, pharmacy, psychology and paramedicine.
Available to high achieving off-shore International students who have an offer of a place in the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery commencing in Semester 1, 2020.
Students must have received at a minimum:
- An overall ISAT score of 180 or higher; and
- Received and ATAR (or equivalent) of 95 or higher.

To maintain this scholarship, students are required to achieve an ungraded pass result in all CoHM units at the end of each semester.
Each scholarship covers 15% of registered tuition fees (includes Students Services and Amenities Fees) for the duration of the course.
Students are assessed automatically for the Dean of Medicine's Merit Scholarship based on ISAT results and results from previous formal education. Shortlisted candidates will be notified in their offer letter and the successful candidates will be notified by Tuesday, 14 January 2020 with a new letter of offer reflecting the reduced 15% tuition fee scholarship.
