What will I do?
You’ll explore the connections between place, culture, technology and sustainability in a new 25 credit point elective unit offered over the summer break. This will begin with a pre-travel module in December. Then you’ll undertake your three-week overseas trip in January with a group of 20 students, accompanied by teaching staff and our partners on the ground. In your designated country, you’ll experience and contribute to local sustainability projects. You’ll then have several assignments to do to complete the unit.
Who is eligible?
Students with elective space in eligible degrees, and who have completed at least four units or 50 credit points by end of semester 2, can apply to enrol in the UniGO program. If you are unsure of your eligibility, contact UConnect.
When and where will I travel?
UniGO students will travel to Indonesia, Malaysia or Vietnam. Students will nominate a preference and we will endeavour to give you your first or second choice. Travel will take place over three weeks in January 2024, with final dates to be confirmed soon.
How much will it cost?
The full cost of airfares, visas, insurance, internal transport, meals and accommodation will be covered. The UniGO program will cost no more than the normal HECS charge for domestic students. If you are an International student or Permanent Resident you will need to pay a supplementary fee to cover these expenses. However, depending on your circumstances, you may also be eligible to apply for financial support.
