Overview

This scholarship has been established from the Alexander McAulay Bequest Trust. Professor McAulay was the Foundation Professor of Physics at the University of Tasmania. During the Second World War, McAulay and EN Waterworth established an optical industry in Hobart, supplying lenses and prisms for military use.

Eligibility

  • Available to a current student who is enrolling in their third year of a Bachelor of Science or combined science degree and is majoring in Physics or Mathematics OR a student commencing Honours in Physics or Applied Mathematics / Mathematical Physics in Semester 1, 2024.
  • Selection will be based on academic merit and quality of written application.

On-going Eligibility

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
