Overview

Mrs Margaret Rodgers is an alumna of the University of Tasmania who has lived in London since 1957. She and her husband Barney Rodgers frequently hosted young Tasmanians in their London home over the years, and when Barney passed away in 2013 Margaret established this scholarship in his memory.

Eligibility

  • These overseas scholarships are designed to assist our current students with the costs associated with travel for an approved international exchange with another university, or to undertake an approved cultural program or a practicum commencing in the second half of 2024.
  • This scholarship is available to an undergraduate student in any faculty who has undertaken the majority of their schooling in Tasmania and who is travelling to London, United Kingdom as part of a University approved exchange program, cultural program or a practicum.
  • Applicants will be assessed on the basis of financial need.
  • The proposed study or related program must be supported in writing by your school or faculty.
  • Priority will be given to students who have completed at least one year of university study and who have arranged an exchange through the Student Exchange Program.
  • This scholarship cannot be held with any other travel scholarship supporting this overseas study without the permission of the University of Tasmania's Scholarships Office.
