Overview

This scholarship is not opening for applications this year.

This scholarship is generously funded by the Granville Harbour Wind Farm (GHWF). GHWF is a 112MW wind farm under construction which is located on a 1,200-hectare cattle farm on the west coast of Tasmania at Granville Harbour. Granville Harbour Wind Farm will capitalise on Tasmania’s enviable wind potential at the same time as helping Tasmania achieve its goal of becoming 100 percent reliant on renewable energy by 2022. When complete, the wind farm will host 31 wind turbines that will produce up to 112 megawatts of clean, renewable energy. This is enough electricity to power around 46,000 homes. GHWF is committed to supporting women to enter non-traditional areas of study such as engineering. To assist with this commitment, GHWF is offering a scholarship to support a Tasmanian woman who demonstrates financial need to pursue studies in Engineering at the University of Tasmania in Hobart.
