Overview

James Fenton was a pioneer farmer in the north-west of Tasmania, the first private European settler west of the Mersey River and an instigator of farming in the region. This scholarship supports north-west students to reside at Jane Franklin Hall, one of the University of Tasmania's residential colleges.

Eligibility

  • Available to a student who is commencing an undergraduate degree in any course in the first half of 2024 and who is relocating from the north-west of Tasmania to study at the Hobart campus.

On-going Eligibility

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester

Amount

$4,000 per year (paid towards accommodation fees at Jane Franklin Hall)
