Overview
The RFDS / Fairbrother First Year Nursing Scholarship has been established by the Royal Flying Doctor Service Tasmania in partnership with the Fairbrother Foundation.
Eligibility
- Available to a student who is commencing first year studies in the Bachelor of Nursing (including Accelerated) in Nursing Study Period 1, 2024.
- To be eligible, applicants must be residing in an outer regional, remote or very remote area of Tasmania (RA 3-5) as defined by the ASGS Remoteness Areas (2016) at the time of application.
- Selection will be based on both academic merit and financial need.
- The scholarship will also include a one week experience at an RFDS Base, either on the mainland or in Tasmania.
- The successful applicant will be required to present a report of their work experience at the RFDS Scholarship Presentation to be held in the last week of November.
- Previous RFDS experience is not required.

Tick the "ASGS remoteness Areas" box and select the year 2016. Click on Search location, and your address classification will be shown.

- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester

$5,000 ($2,500 of which will be paid two weeks before the start of the one week experience at an RFDS base)
