Overview

The University of Tasmania has a range of support options available so finance is not a barrier to study. Depending upon the need expressed by eligible students, packages will be made up of one or more of the following:

  • Support to Succeed - A base package made up of student support services (available to all eligible students)
  • Accommodation Support (a portion of the rent paid by the University for on campus accommodation)
  • Relocation Support (a one-off payment paid directly to the student to assist with relocation and travel expenses)
  • Financial Support (an ongoing payment paid directly to the student for living and study costs)

Eligibility

  • Studying either online or on campus;
  • Enrolled in one of the following:
    • Diploma*,
    • Associate degree,
    • Bachelor degree,
    • Bachelor degree with honours,
    • Graduate Certificate*,
    • Undergraduate Certificate*,
    • Graduate Diploma or Masters
  • A domestic student OR an international student who studied an Australian Senior Secondary qualification onshore in Australia in the year prior to commencing study at the University
  • Financial Support is provided to both commencing and continuing students who are experiencing financial hardship
  • Relocation Support is available to commencing students from regional or remote Tasmania whose home address is more than 50km from their enrolled campus; it may also be available to eligible interstate and New Zealand students who are planning to relocate to Tasmania
  • Accommodation support is available to commencing students from regional or remote Tasmania whose home address is more than 50km from their enrolled campus; it may also be available to eligible interstate and New Zealand students who are planning to relocate to Tasmania. Only available for University of Tasmania Accommodation (Excluding the Sydney Rozelle Campus)

On-going Eligibility

  • Enrol in a minimum 37.5 credit points (full time) for each half year period

Amount

$3,000 per year for Financial Component, $2000 one-off payment for the Relocation Component, $3000 one-off credit towards UTAS Accommodation for the Accommodation Component
