Overview

TasWater's vision is to be a trusted and respected provider of essential services, making a positive difference to Tasmania. As such, TasWater supports the University of Tasmania’s scholarship program to make a positive impact on Tasmanian students and the broader community.
This scholarship aims to ease the financial burdens associated with pursuing Higher Education, and to provide the right recipients with networking and mentoring opportunities.

TasWater is committed to providing career pathway opportunities to women studying STEM who are passionate about a future career within Tasmania. To further this commitment, scholarship recipients are encouraged to apply for the TasWater Graduate program upon completion.

Eligibility

  • The scholarship is available to a student who identifies as female and enrolling in their third year of a bachelor’s degree in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) in Semester 1 2024.
  • Must be a Permanent resident or Australian Citizen and living in Tasmania during their study.
  • Preference is to support full time students, however students enrolled part time are encouraged to apply.
  • Selection will be based on a demonstrated commitment giving back to the Tasmanian community and pursuing a career in STEM upon graduation.
  • Financial need may also be considered during the selection process.
  • TasWater aims to provide recipients with additional opportunities for further support, engagement and mentoring through optional work experience. Recipients entering their final year of study in a three-year degree will be eligible for the second year of scholarship support if they enrol into an Honours Year upon completion.
  • Recipients undertaking a four-year degree, will be supported in their third and fourth year of study.
