University of Tasmania USA Exchange and Study Abroad Scholarship

Overview

This scholarship was established through the generosity of the University of Tasmania Foundation USA Board of Directors and other University of Tasmania alumni and friends in the United States of America. Two scholarships are available to recognise and celebrate student exchange and study abroad, one to support a current University of Tasmania student to study in the United States of America (outbound), and one to support a student from the United States of America to study at the University of Tasmania (inbound).

Eligibility

• Available to both outbound and inbound exchange students who are undertaking an approved international exchange or study abroad program through the University of Tasmania and meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
  • Outbound exchange – Available to a current University of Tasmania student who is enrolled in any area of study and will be undertaking an approved international exchange or study abroad program in the United States in the second half of 2024;
  • OR Inbound exchange – Available to a student from the United States who is eligible to undertake an approved international exchange/study abroad program at the University of Tasmania and has received an offer of a place in any area of study.
• IMPORTANT – as part of the application, inbound applicants should address the overseas scholarship questions in relation to their upcoming overseas study at the University of Tasmania and their current course at their host institution.
• Applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
• This scholarship cannot be held with any other travel scholarship supporting this overseas study without the permission of the University of Tasmania's Scholarships Office.
