Mr Bruce Wall was a significant member of the farming industry in Tasmania. He applied latest methods and practices on his farm, “Lake House” at Cressy and, with his knowledge and experience, he enjoyed success as a breeder of Corriedale sheep, Poll Hereford cattle and commercial cattle. Trustees of the estate of the late Bruce Wall determined that scholarships should be established at the University of Tasmania in his name to assist in the development of talent in Tasmanian students enrolled at the University.

Eligibility

Available to a Tasmanian student from the north of the state who is commencing their first year of the Associate Degree in Applied Science (Z2J) in 2023, specialising in Aquaculture. Selection will be based on the applicant's interest in pursuing studies in Aquaculture and on the quality of the written application. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate they will benefit the most from the scholarship.

On-going Eligibility

  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester

Amount

$4,000 per year. Paid in two instalments of up to $2,000 as soon as possible after census date in each semester. The scholarship is pro-rated for part-time students.

Up to two years or equivalent part time
