Overview
Cement Australia has become an Australian Leader in the cement industry through the combined wisdom of its shareholder, Holcim (50%) and Heidelberg Materials subsidiary Hanson (50%).
These two global parent companies are amongst the largest manufacturers of cement products in the world, operating in more than 70 countries, with Cement Australia being a major player in the Australian construction Industry. This shareholder partnership allows the Tasmanian plant at Railton and its staff the advantage of being able to access the latest products and processes and utilise world-leading research and technology in the cement and concrete industries. The company wishes to support students from the north-west of Tasmania studying at the University of Tasmania in any area relevant to the industry. Eligibility
- Available to a North-West Tasmanian student commencing first year in 2026 in an undergraduate degree course which is relevant to the cement industry. Eg business, commercial, chemistry, engineering, environmental science, geology, management, surveying, etc.
- There may be opportunities for selected students to be offered a paid work placement with Cement Australia over the summer vacation.
- Selection will be based on financial need.
On-going Eligibility
- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
