Overview
The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has generously gifted the University of Tasmania with a substantial donation to establish the CSIRO Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander STEM scholarship, to be funded in perpetuity.
Eligibility
- The scholarship is available to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student commencing or continuing undergraduate or masters (by coursework) study in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
- Students may be asked to provide proof of indigeneity during the application process.
- Preference will be given to students enrolled Full Time.
- Selection will be based on quality of application and demonstrated ability to succeed in the course.
- There may be an opportunity for scholarship holders to undertake student placements with CSIRO.
- Where a student is undertaking a research project as part of their degree, scholarship recipients are encouraged to reach out to CSIRO as a research partner.
- Recipients may also be considered for a graduate placement with CSIRO upon completion of their study.

- Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
