Overview

The CCHF Future Health Leader - Medicine Scholarship is designed to support medical students who are passionate about improving healthcare outcomes in North and North West Tasmania. Funded by the Clifford Craig Health Foundation, the region’s leading health charity, the scholarship provides more than financial assistance. It offers an opportunity to build an early connection with the local health sector and become part of a pathway that supports the development of future healthcare leaders through education, research, and professional growth.
As a scholarship recipient, you will be encouraged to develop your leadership and research capabilities, contribute to the translation of research into better patient care, and explore how your future career can strengthen regional healthcare services. The program aims to build a talent pipeline of medical professionals committed to improving health outcomes, supporting workforce sustainability, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and contributing to healthier communities across North and North West Tasmania.

Eligibility

  • Has achieved an ATAR or equivalent in 2025 or 2026.
  • Is commencing the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine at the Launceston or Cradle Coast campus.
  • Demonstrates a connection to North and/or North West Tasmania through current residence, previous residence, secondary schooling and/or community involvement.
  • Demonstrates an interest in regional healthcare and an intention to practise in Tasmania following graduation.
  • Demonstrates leadership, community contribution and/or volunteering experience.
  • Has strong academic achievement.

On-going Eligibility

  • Enrolled in Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine
  • Achieve a minimum Pass result in all units studied each semester
