Overview
This endowed scholarship has been established thanks to the generosity of Dennis and Melita Phillips, who wanted to make a tangible difference to the lives of young Tasmanian students through the study of Humanities.
Eligibility
- Available to a student commencing a Bachelor degree in Humanities.
- Available to a student studying English; Creative Writing; History, and/or Philosophy.
- Preference will be given to students who undertake one or more of the English and Writing major units in the first year of their undergraduate degree.
- Students must have completed most of their primary and secondary education in Tasmania.
- Selection will be based on academic merit, financial need, and social disadvantage which includes students living with financial hardship.
- Preference will be given to students for whom the financial assistance will make a difference in the successful completion of their studies.
On-going Eligibility
- Remain enrolled in one of the eligible listed degrees
- Achieve a Credit (50/70) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of each semester
